How TikTok took over the football fields
Apart from the fact that this will be a completely different European Championship due to the current COVID-19 crisis, UEFA has also decided on a completely new partnership. For the first time in history, a social network became a sponsor of the UEFA European Championship. The goal of this brand new partnership is to make TikTok the leading social network for football fans.
As part of the partnership, a special concert will be organized featuring the famous British singer Ed Sheeran. Ed will also be singing his new song at the concert, so many fans are looking forward to watching the concert through their TikTok app.
But many are wondering what led to this somewhat unusual partnership and how did TikTok become such an influential social network in such a short time?
TikTok is an app that was created in 2018, after which it quickly and safely climbed to the top of the social media rankings. At the beginning of 2021, TikTok had over a billion active users.
Video creators have a variety of tools at their disposal, including a variety of filters as well as the ability to search for sounds to be used as a soundtrack. Users are also encouraged to interact with other users through “answer” or “duet” features, in which users can duplicate videos and join discussions.
Due to a large number of users, the so-called “TikTok stars” were created, ie creators whose videos have a large number of views and likes. And, many of these “TikTok stars” decided to make TikTok their permanent job. Some of the biggest stars are Charli D’Amelio, with 117.3 million followers, Addison Rae with 81 million followers, Bella Poarch with 72.2 million followers, and many others. TikTok creators are also increasingly appearing in Croatia, gathering a large number of followers. Some of the most famous, are Mirta Miler with 5.9 million followers, Dario Marčac with 526 thousand followers, and Ana Nicole Vrdoljak with 267 thousand followers. In addition, 24sata lists several other important Croatian TikTok creators, such as Petra Dimić, Ela Jerković, Rafthechild, and Bruno Lukić.
Many believe that the COVID-19 crisis and frequent quarantines are additional reasons for TikTok’s success. Since people spend less time with friends, many use TikTok as a type of connection with the environment and a way of entertainment.
TikTok is a completely free app, and it is easy to record a video, not only because of the tools it offers but also because of the many reasons and incentives it offers. You can choose from a wide range of sounds, from clips of popular songs to short excerpts from TV shows, YouTube videos, and other TikToks. You can take part in a dance meme or tell a joke. TikTok is an application for creating and sharing videos. Videos are like stories on Snapchat or Instagram, but you browse them by scrolling up and down, like a feed, instead of swiping to the side.Tags: football
