Velikanke and Imago Win IdejaX – Another Project Supported by Manjgura

The Velikanke Campaign has won the IdejaX award, a project in which Manjgura, as a partner to HEARTH and Imago, provided communication support. At the 10th and largest edition of the Communication Days so far, gold in the category of Best of Positive Change – Society, was awarded to the initiative that highlights gender inequality in the naming of public spaces in Croatia.

Cities and media from all over Croatia have participated

With great media and citizen interest, the campaign, which started from Zagreb’s Square of Croatian Giants with the call to action “Step up for Equality,” expanded throughout Croatia and encouraged local communities and media to reconsider the local perspective and count the streets and squares named after women in their city or municipality. Unfortunately, the number is discouraging because, according to publicly available data, less than two percent of streets and squares in Croatia honor deserving women. The same situation is in Zagreb, which is why the Square of Croatian Giants has become the starting point and symbol of the Velikanke campaign, with the aim of creating two equal squares – the Square of Croatian Giants and the Square of Croatian Giantesses. Citizens are invited to sign a petition on the velikanke.hr website for the official renaming of part of the Square of Croatian Giants.

Manjgura responsible for the communication support

From the first meeting with the brilliant team of creatives from Imago, we never doubted for a second that this was indeed,  a great idea towards positive change, and we are especially pleased that it is now recognized by the industry. Thank you to HEARTH and Imago (and congratulations on winning 16 awards!) for choosing us for communication support. Also, congratulations to the Manjgura team that participated in the project, composed of: Anamarija Hrvoić Đurić (senior advisor), Dora Novak (junior advisor), and Marko Bičić (assistant).

IdejaX is a competition in creativity where agencies have been successfully competing with their creative ideas for 14 years, and this year it was possible to compete in five groups of categories: I. Best on Market; II. Best of Ad-Making; III. Best Branding & Rebranding; IV. Best of Packaging, and in group V. Best of Positive Change. Congratulations to everyone!

p.s. Regarding the increase in the number of streets, squares, and parks named after women, more streets have been named after deserving women from Croatian history, but (too) many are still on the waiting list. We expect changes in those statistics.
