Krešimir Macan and Anamarija Hrvoić Đurić on the Jury of the Prestigious International IPRA Award
Krešimir Macan is a part of the IPRA GWA jury for the second consecutive year, while Anamarija Hrvoić Đurić, last year’s winner of this prestigious international award, is joining the jury for the first time
The IPRA Golden World Awards (GWA) are often referred to as the “PR Oscars” and represent one of the most prestigious recognitions in the field of public relations. This year, two of our own – “manjak” and “mangura” (Dubrovnik’s local terms for a boy and girl) – will help select the winners: Krešimir Macan, founder and director of Manjgura, and Anamarija Hrvoić Đurić, director of strategic communications.
Presented by IPRA – the International Public Relations Association – this renowned competition is judged by a panel of 50 experts from around the world, including representatives from companies, agencies, associations, institutions, and universities. The official IPRA website highlights Krešimir Macan’s expertise, noting his advisory work for two Croatian Prime Ministers during election campaigns, as well as his Grand PRix HUOJ award for advancing the public relations profession.
“It is a great honor to be part of the IPRA Golden World Awards jury for the second time and to once again evaluate the most innovative global PR campaigns, this time alongside my colleague Anamarija. Last year was a valuable experience, especially as Manjgura hosted the final judging. I am confident that this year there will be even more creative projects in the competition for this prestigious world award”, said Krešimir Macan.
“After several successful seasons of receiving awards, it is an honor for me this year to sit on the other side of the table and join the IPRA GWA jury, where we will evaluate the best communication campaigns from around the world. And, of course, the link between communication and outcomes,” added Anamarija Hrvoić Đurić.
Let us recall that Manjgura won the IPRA GWA last year in the Public Sector category for the campaign “Justice Served: Historic Rise of Judges’ Salaries.” This was a months-long campaign during 2023/2024, during which Manjgura provided communication support to the Croatian Judges Association. The project culminated in the largest increase in judges’ salaries in recent Croatian history. Manjgura’s team for the campaign included founder and director Krešimir Macan, then-senior consultant Anamarija Hrvoić Đurić, and junior consultant Dora Novak.
It is also worth noting that the final judging of last year’s IPRA GWA was held in Croatia for the first time, specifically in Zagreb, with Manjgura as the host. This was a significant recognition for the Croatian PR industry. Alongside Krešimir Macan, the jury also included his colleague Marina Bolanča Radunović from the agency Abeceda komunikacija. Macan and Bolanča did not judge in categories where their agencies were finalists.
IPRA was founded in 1955 and represents a leading global network of PR experts with a mission to advance trustworthy communication and ethical practices in public relations. Among the organization’s key activities is its annual global competition, which promotes excellence within the PR industry. Established in 1990, the IPRA Golden World Awards annually recognize outstanding achievements by global communications professionals.
The Global Contribution Award honors a campaign aimed at achieving one of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The overall IPRA Grand Prix for Excellence is awarded to the entry judged to represent the highest standards of the year.
