PR Summit Trust is PRiority, October 18 in Belgrade, featuring Krešimir Macan

This year’s prestigious IPRA GWA (International Public Relations Association Golden World Awards) ceremony, known as the “PR Oscars”, will take place on October 18, 2024, during a glamorous gala evening in Belgrade. In honor of this event, organized by Avala Media and Blumen Group, the PR Summit “Trust is PRiority” will be held the same day from 12 PM to 4 PM in the “Lavender” hall of the Metropol Palace Hotel. The summit will bring together top communication experts from around the world to discuss key challenges the PR profession faces in the era of rapid AI development and growing public distrust.

A key part of the summit will be the panel discussion “PR and Media Challenges: New Age”, moderated by Vanda Kučera, Director of Corporate Communications at McCann Belgrade. Panelists will include Krešimir Macan, founder and director of the Manjgura agency, Aleksandra Kosanović Strižak, Director of Marketing and Communications at Erste Bank Serbia, Jasmina Koprivica, Director of Digital Operations at Euronews.rs and TVArenasport.com, and Radiša Kričak, PR Manager at McCann within the I&F Group.

Amid increasing public distrust, fear of AI’s rapid progress, and the uncertainty it brings, the panelists will explore an important question: Are we ready for the new distribution of responsibility? Do we all share the same challenges, or will each of us have to face our own? Do we truly understand what ‘public interest’ means, and what is our role in shaping public opinion? Do the media and PR professionals really have the power they are believed to hold?

Other summit participants will include Bojana Stanković, owner and head of communications at Smart Vision, Nataša Pavlović Bujas, President of IPRA for 2024 and founder and director of Blumen Group in Serbia, Dr. Dejan Verčič, Professor, co-founder and President of the IPRA ABA Chapter and founder of the Bledcom PR Conference, Marina Bolanča, founder and director of the “Abeceda komunikacije” agency in Croatia and IPRA GWA winner, and Sanja Milaković Kolundžija, partner at “Executive Group” in Serbia and also an IPRA GWA winner.

Additionally, the summit will feature Gordan Turković, founder and CEO of “CTA Communication” from Croatia and IPRA GWA winner, Aleksandra Vuković, entrepreneur and director of “NURA* digital” from Serbia, and Ivan Jakšić, founder of Avala Media and co-founder of the IPRA ABA Chapter.

Other panel discussions will address how to manage new technologies and changes in the communications landscape, while the gala evening will be the highlight of the event, celebrating excellence in communications through the presentation of prestigious awards to the best in the industry.

To recall, IPRA is the leading international public relations association, founded in 1955 with the mission of promoting reliable communication and ethical practices in public relations. The annual IPRA GWA initiative, was launched in 1990 and has consistently promoted excellence in the PR industry. This year, the final judging took place for the first time in Croatia, specifically in Zagreb, hosted by the Manjgura agency. Krešimir Macan served as a jury member alongside his colleague Marina Bolanča Radunović from the Abeceda komunikacije agency.

Manjgura was a finalist for the prestigious PR Oscars this year with two projects and won an award in the public sector category for the campaign “Justice served: Historic rise of judges’ salaries”. The campaign spanned several months, during which Manjgura provided communication support to the Croatian Judges Association, culminating in the largest increase in judges’ salaries in recent history.

The formal IPRA GWA ceremony will take place following the PR Summit on Saturday, October 18, at 7:15 PM at the Metropol Palace Hotel in Belgrade.
